POCATELLO — William C. Skinner, 81, a former Jordan and Boise Valley resident; and prominent Pocatello and Idaho Falls businessman, civic and
fraternal leader, died August 5, 1982 in the Riverview Hospital, Idaho Falls.
He was born August 5, 1901 at the Goose Ranch in the Jordan Valley, to William S. and Ella Sackett Skinner.

He received his schooling in the Jordan Valley schools and attended Oregon State University.

As a young man he was a cattle feeder and shipper in the Boise Valley; later moving to Portland, Oregon where he was employed by several banks, managing
their properties in Central Oregon. He then returned to the Boise valley buying and selling livestock; moving to Pocatello in 1932 and was manager of the Idaho Egg Producer's Assn. On March 10, 1937 he started working for the Ralston Purina Company as a salesman and was then appointed general
manager in the financial and credit department of the company. In 1953 he
became manager and partner in the Old Faithful Beverage Company, retiring in 1978.

Mr. Skinner was active in civic and fraternal affairs in Pocatello and Idaho
Falls. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; Prineville Lodge
No. 76 AF & AM, Prineville, Ore.; a thirty-third degree member of the Pocatello
Scottish Rite Bodies; a member of Radiant Chapter No. 61 Order of Eastern Star; a Past Grand Patron of the Idaho Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern
Star; was a member of El Korah Shrine, and he was coordinator of the Pepsi
scholarship for the Miss Idaho and Miss America pageants.

He married Edna Matheson, April 8, 1928 in Boise. He is survived by his
wife of Idaho Falls; a brother, S.K. (Kirt) Skinner, Jordan Valley, Ore.;
four sisters, Ruby Gheen, Ontario, Ore.; Verna Van Matre, Fruitland, Ida.; Irma Palmer, Spokane, Wash.; and Ella Carlsen, Beaverton, Ore. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church, Pocatello. Ritualistic Rose Croix services were conducted by the Pocatello Scottish Rite Bodies. Burial was in the Mount Moriah section of Mountain view Cemetery.
