The Napa Daily Register
DEATH; ANGEL
Mrs. Kirtland Sackett Passes
Away at Home of Her Son,
Charles, in San Francisco
Tuesday Night.
(From Wednesday's Daily. 1920)
At an early hour today a telephone message from San Francisco conveyed to Mrs. W. W. Imrie of this city news of the death of her mother, Mrs. Kirtland Sackett. She had for some time been stopping with her son, Charles, and family out in Sunset District, San Francisco, and though in failing health there was no intimation when she retired Tuesday that she would be summoned to her eternal rest before another day dawned. But such was to be the case members of the family were not made aware of their sad loss until they found her this morning peacefully sleeping her last sleep.
Mrs. Sackett was a native of Steubenville, Ohio. She came from that place to Napa with the late Mrs.W.K. Salmon in1861. She was in the 84th year of her age. Her husband, one of the leading agriculturists of this valley, passed away some ten years ago.
Mrs. Sackett was one of the last of the few old and much-loved pioneer women to be called from a blameless life here to the spirit land. Her name is one of the first in the list of members of the Presbyterian church of Napa. She was steadfast in the faith. gentle in spirit, ministering ever to comfort and happiness of those around her and blessing every life she touched.Surviving her are these children: Mrs. Hattie Koster, Mrs. Ella Skinner,
Mrs. W.W. Imrie, George Sackett, Samuel Sackett, Charles Sackett;
also twenty-one grand children and four great grand children.
Mrs. Imrie went to the city on this afternoon's train
Remains of deceased will probably be brought to Napa for interment in
the family plot in Tulocay cemetery.
