BOSWELL LINEAGE
 
This information was prepared by Dorothy Holly Gerlach of Springfield Oregon, in 1972. Individual family pages were obtained from the Johnston family through the Boswell family from 1818 to1970. The family started with the Johnston lineage and then follows the Bosewell's to Merle Bosewell the wife of Hugh Sackett Skinner. The original document are in the possesion of Michael Kirtland Skinner.

John Calvin Johnston, b 1845, married 1871 to Amalia Ruf, b 1854 in Adrian Oregon (father John Baptist Ruf, b 1826, and mother Mary J. Stall, b 1826, both of Greeson Germany and farmers) and they were farmers in Iowa, Kansas, Texas and Oregon, finally settling in Adrian Oregon. Children:

John Boswell, b 1871, married in 1910 to C'Ceal Johnston, b 1879, in Vale Oregon. John was a miner, postmaster, drugest and deputy sheriff in Malheur County Oregon, while C'Ceal was a teacher and assistant pharmacist in Vale Oregon. Children:
